The mission of Border Patrol Foundation (BPF) is to honor the memory of fallen U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents and provide support and resources to the families. BPF provides support to Border Patrol employees, USBP agents and their families for on- and off-duty deaths, injuries, illnesses, family medical emergencies, special circumstances and student scholarships.

Border Patrol Agent Daniel P. Cox passed away on July 31, 2021 after being involved in a head-on vehicle accident on State Route 86 near Three Points, Arizona.
Agent Cox entered on duty on July 28, 1997, at the Eagle Pass Station in Del Rio Sector as part of the 346th Session of the Border Patrol Academy. At the time of his passing, he was assigned to the BORSTAR unit in Tucson Sector as a Canine Handler and Canine Instructor. Prior to becoming a Border Patrol agent, Agent Cox honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1998.
He is survived by his two daughers, his father and two brothers.
